<b>Description</b><br>
One of the most distinctive works in the ISHISHI collection: a human head in profile assembled entirely from architectural and mechanical elements. Staircases, spirals, gears, fan and shell motifs, nautilus-like spirals, Aztec and Mesoamerican-inspired decorative patterns, and geometric blocks form the silhouette of a face. The profile reads clearly as human from a distance; closer inspection reveals the constructivist complexity within.<br><br>
The medium is colored pencil on canvas board, with the canvas weave texture visible throughout the surface. The palette is blue, brown/sepia and grey - cooler and more controlled than many of the paper-based works. Signed "ISHISHI" in brown at lower right. Verso: "© 2022". In very good condition with no tears or foxing.<br><br>
