<b>Description</b><br>
A celebration of avian display reimagined through the ISHISHI surrealist lens. A peacock with a prominent circular eye and curved beak sits at the base of the composition, its elaborate plumage radiating upward and filling the entire picture plane. Each feather contains circular "eye" motifs with cross or window-like patterning within them - ISHISHI's recurring eye motif transformed into the natural markings of the bird's plumage. Architectural elements occupy the base of the composition: arches, columns and a dome or beehive form ground the bird in the architectural world the artist inhabits.<br><br>
The palette is richly varied: blues, pinks, greens, mauves, yellows and earth tones, typical of the mid-period ISHISHI works. Verso notation likely reads "© 2016". In generally good condition. Signed "ISHISHI" at lower right.<br><br>
