Mid-19th Century French Ormolu Mantel Clock – Japy Frères (c.1855–1865)

Authentic French Second Empire ormolu mantel clock, featuring a high-quality Japy Frères movement and an elegant figural case typical of the Napoleon III period.

The clock depicts a finely modelled putto / cherub figure in fire-gilt bronze, seated above a rocaille-decorated case. Gilding remains strong and original with a warm, even patina. This is a well-proportioned, decorative example that displays beautifully.
