Description / Overview:
A well-presented example of the iconic VW T2 Kombi, finished in a striking two-tone combination of olive yellow over white that works very well on the late-bay shape. The vendor advises a full restoration has been carried out covering body, mechanical components, and engine. From the photographs, this appears to be accurate. The body is straight and rust-free in presentation, panel gaps are tight, chrome trim and window seals appear renewed, and the two-tone paintwork is high-gloss throughout.
The interior has been fully retrimmed with coordinated green and cream vinyl on the front bench and door cards, white tongue-and-groove style rear panels, and a wood-look laminate floor. A Pioneer head unit is fitted. The rear seating has been removed in favour of an open cargo space that lends itself to camper conversion. The engine has been upgraded with dual carburettors and pod air filters, and the unit has been freshened. An Australian Road Safety Division modification compliance plate confirms a 1987 approval for five-seat additional seating configuration. The original VW M-plate has not been photographed.
The odometer reads 79,022 km which, on a five-digit counter, cannot be independently verified. The engine is confirmed as non-original (CJ-prefix unit, not factory-spec for this chassis).
