Overview

The trilliant cut is one of the most visually distinctive shapes in gemstone cutting - a triangular brilliant with enough facets to deliver genuine fire and light play. At 4.13 carats and measuring 10.60 x 10.60mm, this tanzanite fills the triangular frame with a vivid deep purple-violet that shifts between blue-dominant and purple-dominant depending on viewing angle, a demonstration of tanzanite's characteristic pleochroism. The split-shank design features 144 pave-set round brilliant diamonds wrapping from the halo down both rails of the band, creating continuous sparkle that complements the violet centre.



From the photos, the ring is in excellent condition. The 585 hallmark is stamped on the inner shank alongside "T4.13ct D0.81ct" confirming metal purity and stone weights. The gallery beneath the head features open filigree work allowing light access to the tanzanite from below. Tanzanite has been heat treated (1+ observed), which is standard practice for virtually all commercial tanzanite and transforms the natural brown component to the desired violet-blue. An independent insurance valuation (Platinum Jewellery Valuations, FGAA appraiser, June 2025) assessed replacement value at AUD $30,000.
