Overview

South Sea pearls at 15mm with AA lustre represent the upper tier of cultured pearl quality, and these two present with the soft, creamy warmth and silver overtone characteristic of the best white South Sea production. They are near-round, well-matched in size and colour, and hang from diamond-encrusted huggie hoops that provide the kind of architectural framing a pearl of this size deserves. The huggie element is wide and boldly curved, its front face covered in approximately 40 round brilliant diamonds per earring arranged in a dense pave grid. The vintage-inspired proportions - wide, curved, slightly domed - evoke mid-century glamour without feeling dated.



From the photos, the earrings are in excellent condition. Both pearls show good lustre with smooth, reflective light pools across the surface. Very minor surface characteristics are present (consistent with the "very few blemishes" grading), which is entirely normal for South Sea pearls and indicates natural origin. The pearl-to-diamond proportion is well-balanced - the huggie hoops provide substantial sparkle without overwhelming the pearls. Omega back closures provide secure, comfortable wear. An independent insurance valuation (Platinum Jewellery Valuations, FGAA appraiser, May 2025) assessed replacement value at AUD $28,000.
