Provenance: Jannie Naninurra Brown Was Born In The Wirrimanu (Balgo) Region Between Wirripi, Kintore And Lappi Lapi In 1966. A Kukatja And Warlpiri Language Speaker, She Grew Up In Her Country With Her Family. At Age 18, She Relocated To Adelaide To Learn Painting From Her Aunty, Establishing Herself As An Accomplished Artist. She Returned To The Red Centre With Her Husband And Two Children In 1993, Where She Continues To Paint Her Grandmother'S Country. Brown Is Recognised For Her Distinctive Contemporary Aboriginal Art Practice, Depicting The Yarllalya Region South Of Balgo In The Great Sandy Desert Through Intricate Dot Work And Symbolic U-Shaped Forms Representing Hills, Trees, And Natural Landscape Features.
