Description / Overview:
The FTO GPX with the MIVEC V6 and manual gearbox is the spec to have and that is confirmed here. The factory plate reads 6A12, the valve cover reads MIVEC V6 DOHC 24V, the gearbox is the F5M42 5-speed, and the Australian compliance plate VIN 6T91MPR05SYJPL014 has been photographed and is legible. The DE3A chassis code confirms GPX specification. All the important numbers check out.
The condition, however, is rough and the listing does not hide it. The roof and bonnet show severe clear coat failure and paint delamination down to primer. The front bumper is damaged and warped -- it appears to be an aftermarket replacement, not the OEM item. The bonnet also appears to be a replacement panel and has been respray over a different base colour. Headlight lenses are heavily yellowed. Surface rust is present on the roof and in the spare wheel well. The OEM airbag steering wheel has been replaced with an aftermarket Momo unit on a quick-release hub. There is no battery fitted -- the vehicle starts on a jump.
On the positive side, the engine bay is reasonably tidy with aftermarket red silicone hoses and a strut tower brace. The vendor advises it runs well mechanically. The rear half of the car is in substantially better condition than the front. The rear spoiler is intact. The interior is functional with aftermarket AMRA bucket seats and a JVC head unit, though the headliner sags at the edges and the driver door card is delaminating. This is a project car for a buyer who knows what they are getting into.
