Description:

1984 Mazda RX-7
1984 Mazda RX-7 two-door coupe, Australian-delivered Series 3 FB example, finished in Brandy Wine. Rear-wheel drive powered by a modified 12A rotary engine with twin sidedraft carburettors, paired with a Series 3 5-speed manual transmission. Odometer indicating 382,885 kilometres. Seating for four.

Description / Overview:
The first-generation RX-7 is widely considered the purest rotary sports car Mazda ever made. Light, balanced, and with a free-revving engine mounted entirely behind the front axle, the SA22C remains a genuine driver's car that punches well above its modest asking prices. This example is an Australian-delivered Series 3 FB, built May 1984 and compliance-plated November 1984, with all three VIN locations matching and undisturbed.

This car has been set up as a performance street car. The factory 12A has been fitted with twin sidedraft carburettors with velocity stacks and a high-compression Bridgeport-ported rotor housing, which substantially lifts mid-range and top-end response over the stock carb setup. An aftermarket aluminium radiator has been fitted, a smart upgrade for rotary cooling. Blue silicone ignition leads and a full exhaust system with AES side valve pipe complete the engine work. The owner was clearly knowledgeable, with spare NGK plugs in the glovebox and an upgraded cooling system showing genuine care for the engine.

Paint is excellent. The Brandy Wine finish has strong gloss and depth across all panels, with no visible rust, dents, or major blemishes. Aftermarket Simmons-style 18-inch deep-dish wheels fitted. Interior is functional with moderate wear consistent with the mileage. Note the high odometer reading of 382,885 km, which should factor into buyer expectations around engine condition.
