Description
This one is genuinely one-of-a-kind. What started life as a 1967 Austin 338N67A truck has been transformed into a professional fire engine themed novelty passenger vehicle trading as "Little Chiefs Fire Service." The rear body has been completely rebuilt and registered to seat 12 passengers, fitted with a tubular steel frame, perspex canopy, bench seating along the sides, grab rails, a rear entry gate, and checker-plate running boards. The whole thing is decked out with proper fire service kit including a chrome bell mounted up front, a roof-mounted red rotating beacon, fire hose reel, fire extinguishers, jerry cans and a 300 litre water tank with portable pump. The branding is clean and professional with custom gold vinyl signage advertising the business on both sides and the rear, plus the classic red and yellow chevron safety striping.
The truck presents in good condition for its age and working life. The cab is the strongest-presenting area, with the Austin grille lettering and chrome intact, quad headlamps all present and correct, and the fire engine red paint carrying a decent gloss. The rear conversion body shows some honest commercial wear including areas of paint wear and surface patina, which you'd expect from a vehicle that earns its keep at kids' parties, school events and private charters. The front bonnet has a small amount of rust as disclosed by the seller. The wheels are painted black on the fronts with red hubs on the rears, tyres appear serviceable. Overall the vehicle presents as a running, functional events business asset rather than a restoration project.
If you run an events business, a function centre, or you want a crowd-stopping piece of Australiana for tourism, markets or charity events, this is a ready-to-go package. The branding and kit are all there, the registration as a passenger-carrying vehicle has been done, and the conversion work is solid. Nothing like it will come through Lloyds again anytime soon.
