Description
The SH145X-6 is Sumitomo's 14.5-tonne class excavator, a workhorse size class for civil construction, residential earthworks, and demolition. Built in Japan and powered by the Isuzu 4JJ1X turbo diesel (the same engine platform used across the Isuzu N-series truck range), parts availability and service support are excellent Australia-wide. The X-6 generation introduced improved hydraulics, fuel economy, and the LEGEST operating system with LCD monitor, rear-view camera, and auto idle stop. Sumitomo is distributed and supported in Australia through the Case CE dealer network.
This unit shows 7,138 hours, which puts it in the middle of its working life for the 14T class. The undercarriage shows steel triple-grouser track pads with an estimated 60 to 70 percent remaining life from photo assessment. Track rollers, idlers, and the track frame appear in serviceable condition with typical dirt and surface rust. No seized rollers or missing pads are visible. The boom and stick appear straight with no visible cracks, and the hydraulic cylinders show no scoring or leaks from photos.
The cab is ROPS/FOPS compliant with intact glass all around. The operator seat has a torn cushion (noted by vendor) and the interior is dusty but all controls, joysticks, and the LCD monitor appear functional. The engine bay shows the Isuzu 4JJ1X with fuel/water separators, Donaldson hydraulic filter, and normal operational grime. No obvious fluid leaks. Batteries are in place with red terminal covers.
The attachment package is the highlight here. The machine comes with a Tefra fully automatic double-locking quick coupler, two digging buckets (one GP, one narrow trenching), and a hydraulic clamshell/grab bucket. The Tefra coupler alone is a significant value add for any operator running multiple attachments.
