This AUII Falcon has been transformed into a faithful tribute to the Dick Johnson and Paul Radisich Shell Helix #17 entry from the 1999 FAI 1000 at Bathurst, and the attention to detail on the livery is genuinely impressive. Shell Helix branding, FAI 1000 event graphics, Johnson and Radisich driver names on the B-pillar, Victoria Bitter on the rear wing, Compaq, Crane Cams, Channel 7, PPG, and Exedy decals. All period-correct for the 1999 DJR Bathurst campaign. The V8 Supercar-style rear wing with DJR branding and red-painted 17-inch alloy wheels complete the look and really sell the presentation.
Important corrections to the original listing. The compliance plate clearly shows a build date of October 2001, making this a 2001 car, not 1998 as listed. The engine is a 5.0-litre Windsor V8 with EFI, confirmed by the engine bay photos and compliance plate engine code. This is not an XR6 and the engine is naturally aspirated, not turbocharged as originally listed. The odometer reads 187,791km, a data entry error in the original listing inflated the figure significantly. The 5-speed manual transmission is correctly listed and confirmed by the compliance plate.
The V8 and 5-speed manual combination makes this a proper driving machine, not just a trailer queen. Panels are straight with no significant dents or rust visible, and door jambs show clean factory red paint underneath the livery. The rear wing is a replica piece that really sells the full tribute look from any angle.
