Description
The FJ45 is the workhorse of the original Land Cruiser family, and finding a dual cab utility in this kind of condition is a rare thing. Built in 1963, the FJ45 was the go-anywhere platform that earned Toyota's reputation for indestructibility in the Australian outback, on farms, and on mine sites across the country. This example has been restored to a high standard in a period-correct cream finish and presents as a genuinely impressive piece of Toyota heritage.
The cream paintwork holds good gloss across all panels and the body appears straight. Under the bonnet sits a 4-cylinder diesel engine (F-series) with a red-painted valve cover, presenting cleanly with dual batteries fitted. The engine bay is tidy and well-organised. A black steel bull bar with driving lights protects the front, and a snorkel is fitted on the passenger side. The original Toyota and Land Cruiser badging is intact on the bonnet. Steel wheels are fitted with Olympic Overlander tyres showing adequate tread. Vendor advises the timber on the tray has been recently redone, and it presents in excellent condition with quality hardwood planking on a steel frame.
Inside, the cab has been beautifully finished with a red vinyl bench seat that looks freshly upholstered. The dashboard retains the original instrument cluster with speedometer (reading 95,406), oil pressure, temperature, and fuel gauges. A Kenwood cassette stereo has been fitted. The original gear shifting instructions plate is mounted on the sun visor, showing the transfer case pattern for high range, low range, and front drive engagement. The floor is clean with diamond plate kick panels. Fold-down windscreen hinges are present. The rear cab windows feature wire mesh guards.
