Description
The GDB Subaru WRX STI (2001-2005) is the car that put Japanese all-wheel-drive performance on the global map. The EJ207 turbocharged 2.0-litre flat-four, symmetrical AWD, and six-speed close-ratio gearbox combined to make the GDB one of the most capable point-to-point performance cars of its era, regardless of price. This particular example was built in November 2002 and complied to Australian standards in May 2003. Build plate confirms engine code EJ207NW5CR and transmission code TY856WX3CA. Colour code 51E (Pearl White) is the classic STI specification, and the Subaru Impreza WRX STi badging is present on the bootlid. The car has been enthusiastically and thoughtfully modified by its previous owner, and critically, every original stock part removed is still with the car.
The engine bay has been converted to a front-mount intercooler setup. Large polished aluminium FMIC piping runs across the engine bay with blue silicone couplings at each end. A K&N cone intake replaces the factory airbox. A Turbosmart blow-off valve is fitted. The original top-mount intercooler, complete with red silicone piping and the Turbosmart BOV, sits in the boot ready for the next owner to use as they see fit. A Blitz Dual Turbo Timer is fitted to the steering column and set to a 10-second cool-down. The intercooler water spray system button is present and functional on the dashboard. STI-specific blue and black cloth sports seats are in good condition with age-appropriate wear.
Exteriorly the Pearl White bodywork presents well. Panel gaps are even and straight throughout. The hood bonnet scoop is factory GDB. The front bumper has had a chin splitter added with STI badging. Aftermarket projector headlights have been fitted. A STREET ESSENCE windscreen banner is fitted. Aftermarket white multi-spoke alloy wheels are fitted with what appear to be gold/bronze aftermarket brake calipers visible behind. The 20D Racing coilover suspension has been installed, with the warranty card present in the vehicle. An aftermarket MOMO 3-spoke steering wheel is fitted to the car, with the original STI factory steering wheel and airbag clock spring stored in the rear footwell. Vendor advises aftermarket suspension, rims, front splitter, steering wheel, front-mount intercooler, intake, new speakers, and IC sprayer have been fitted.
