The Build
Holden WB panel vans are a finite Australian classic and good ones are getting harder to find. This 1980 WB has been transformed into a proper show piece. Vendor advises the car received a full exterior respray in lime green within the last 12 months, and has been driven only to the auction warehouse since completion. The finish is deep, consistent and glossy across all panels, straight body with no obvious filler or damage visible in photos.
Power comes from a Holden V8 stroked from 308ci to 355ci (5.8 litres), dressed with a chrome air cleaner and sitting in a black-painted engine bay. The block carries engine number 11WT417059 (visible and stamped). The M40 automatic transmission is retained from factory specification. The car sits low on polished multi-spoke alloys with staggered wider tyres at the rear, giving it a proper stance. Inside, the cab has been fully reupholstered in black throughout, including fresh bucket seats with centre console and armrest, door cards in ribbed black cloth, and black carpet. The cargo area is fully lined in black carpet from floor to ceiling. An aftermarket head unit and custom door-mounted speakers are fitted in the cab. A/C compressor and A/C coil components are included in the cargo area, with installation not yet completed by the vendor.
The compliance plate (07/80, VIN AWB07289A) and build plate (WB8WM70, body no 486475-A, paint 568-31730, trans M40) are both present with undisturbed rivets. Both rivets are intact on the body ID plate (8M70LK L486475 B).
