<b>Description</b><br>
A sprawling architectural fantasy drawn in blue ballpoint pen, building an impossible city from elements drawn across human architectural history. Gothic pointed arches and ribbed vaults sit beside Islamic and Moorish domes and minarets, Buddhist or Hindu seated figures occupy niched arcades, and conical-roofed towers, colonnades, bridges, staircases and crenellated walls form the layered backdrop. The composition has no clear horizon or ground plane - structures float, interlock and overlap in the Escher tradition.<br><br>
The technical execution is exceptional for ballpoint pen: extensive cross-hatching and directional hatching create a wide tonal range from pale sky to deep shadow, giving each architectural element convincing dimensionality. The ink appears unfaded and stable. Signed at lower right. The verso shows show-through from the drawing pressure consistent with ballpoint on paper, and bears a "© 2026" copyright notation.<br><br>
