About This GTS
The VE GTS LS2 sits at the top of HSV's most celebrated generation. Before the supercharged LSA took over, this 5967cc Gen IV V8 delivered 307 kilowatts at 6000rpm and 550Nm of torque at 4400rpm in pure naturally aspirated form. That figure is confirmed on the factory-fitted engine specification plaque inside the engine bay. Paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, the GTS sedan gives you genuine muscle car credentials wrapped in a practical four-door body that seats five. With 101,830 kilometres on the clock across nearly 20 years of ownership, this is an example that has been driven and appreciated, not locked away.
The exterior presents in Phantom Black with good gloss across all panels. The characteristic HSV front end is sharp and purposeful, with the GTS lower grille badge and projector headlights framing the look. Factory 19-inch HSV alloys are fitted in charcoal finish, all four in good shape without significant kerb rash. The signature red Brembo-specification calipers are clearly visible through the spokes on all four corners. The rear features the twin quad exhaust outlets and the GTS and 307 badges. Vendor discloses paint chips on the front bonnet leading edge consistent with highway use, scuff marks to the lower rear bumper, a scratch to the driver door outer panel, and some chipping to the driver mirror cap.
Step inside and the GTS-specific red and black leather and alcantara interior does exactly what it is supposed to do. The three-gauge overhead instrument cluster monitors voltage, oil temperature and oil pressure, the Track mode button sits ready on the centre console, and the Holden lion looks down from the steering wheel hub. The front seats carry the GTS embroidered logo on the headrests and show bolster wear appropriate to the mileage. The rear seats are very clean with matching GTS badging. Carpet throughout is tidy with Holden-logoed floor mats present. The Blaupunkt head unit with navigation, dual-zone climate control, cruise control and powered mirrors all feature. The battery has been relocated to the boot, a common enthusiast modification that has no adverse effect on daily usability.
The LS2 engine bay presents cleanly with the iconic red engine cover. No visible fluid leaks are apparent across three separate photographic inspections. All ancillaries are present and accessible. This is the LS2 in naturally aspirated, unmodified specification.
